ABOUT ME

I grew up all over the states and in Panama...came to Israel three years ago to volunteer on a Kibbutz and get a breath of fresh air outside the US, meant to stay for six months then ended up staying on the kibbutz for a year. Long story short, i never went back to the states, and I've been living in Jerusalem for the past two years.

I love my city and am amazed by the amount of history that surrounds me here. I love to take people around israel and most of the palestinian territories. I WILL NOT go to settlements, nor do I support them! I'm very hopeful for peace in this area and would love to show people a balance of both sides =)

Most of my free days are spent hiking around jerusalem (great nature here!), going to the beach in TA, traveling to the north and visiting my kibbutz, kickin it in the shuk, and chillin and bbqing on our balcony. I really enjoy the nightlife in Jerusalem, and contrary to what most people assume, it's better and much more unique than tel-aviv! Less into clubs, more into pubs, lounges, and live music..

I like chillers, dreamers, writers, musicians, philosophers, and world wanderers....come in peace, go in peace. I realize Israel is a very controversial area so I ask that people come with an open mind and heart, and leave politics at the door (it just makes people angry!). I'm down for discussions but nothing heated! I stayed in this country because i love it and want to share that beauty with anyone's who's interested =)

I've hosted some people but haven't crashed anyone's couch yet! So far I've only had amazing houseguests with great stories and knowledge =)

Movies: I can never get enough, I really enjoy french, spanish, and german film specifically, but I'm open to anything original and containing substance. Some favorites are city of god, after the wedding, la vie en rose, the lives of others, amores perros, the edukators, and anything by wes anderson...

Music: too much to list...REGGAE, folk, blues, indie, trance, world, lounge....basically anything that is not coming out of the music industry machine, SAY NO TO POP!

Books: i couldn't live without them...some favorites are the unbearable lightness of being, Dharma bums, perfume, the prophet, the tao of pooh, anything on spirituality or buddhism, and EVERYTHING by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

i lived, worked, and studied on a kibbutz in northern israel for a year. It was the most amazing year of my life and really taught me alot about living and working together and understanding others. I made incredible friendships with the people from the community and am happy to say it's still my home in Israel and I go there often to see friends and adoptive family =)
