About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding our house in the countryside!

ABOUT ME

Where can I start? I'm not that good at describing me..
My name is Elisa and I come from Milan but I ended up living in a small town in Sicily...I will never go back to the big city!
What I like the most in the world is riding my bike with no hands and climbing mountains (although I haven't done it very often lately). I love eating good food (sicilian food rocks) and preparing creative activities for my students.

PHILOSOPHY

It could sound ordinary but... "Be the chance you want to see in the world". That is: climate change, oil peak, global crisis are all connected and we need to change our way of living and thinking in order to create a real and positive alternative.
Think global, act local. Buy local and organic food, eat less meat, take care of the environment around you, use public transports/foot/bike instead of cars, reuse things, don't buy plastic, share what you have and...many other things!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm a couchsurfng member from a long time but I have never had the opportunity to host people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed in Uk, Denmark and Sweden. I think couchsurfing is one of the best way to travel 'cause it gives you the opportunity to live a place through the eye of the people hosting you: you have the chance to deeply meet real people and not just monuments ;)

Interests

I'm in sustainable life stile (I'm a soap artisan, I have a wormcompost and a rooftop garden in my house), green mobility (I'm fond of bikes and hitchiking), permaculture, transition towns, strawbale houses, I'm part of a GAS (group of people that buy local, fair and organic things together). I love teaching and alternative education methods (I used to be an italian teacher for immigrants, now I teach english in a kindergarten).
