I just left my corporate art job of 5.5 years and am embarking on a year of focusing on learning more about myself, focusing on my art and traveling as much as I can.

I value human connection, my creative practice, mindfulness, a healthy life style, adventure, and just making the most of every moment I spend alive on this big, big rock spiraling though the Universe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love how couchsurfing is based on a mutual value of human connection, respect and love of travel. I value learning about a place through its people.

I have done more of my traveling expereinces through pet and house sitting through Trusted Housesitters. I am happy to show reviews from that site, if desired, to make up for fewer reviews on here. :-)

Interests

I am an artist. It's my life path and what guides me and occupies most of my time. I love drawing and painting in a range of mediums, but I also do a work digitally as well. You can check out my work here: www.stripedpartyhat.com

I love spending time outside in many different ways. Running, hiking, biking, swimming, camping, backpacking! Just sitting in and living in nature keeps me sane. I have a special affinity for meadows and rivers.

Generally new experiences excite me! Even if its just taking the long way home. I love sprinkling in novelty in my life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a range of music but find myself listening to indie rock, dance music and psychedelic / surf music. Some of my favorite artists include Beach House, Clairo, Haley Blais, Hovvdy, Alex G. I love learning about cultures through music and would love recommendations to see the best local music.

I am a big audio book person. I love memoirs and books on spirituality. I have started to dabble into novels. My favorite recent reads include: Braiding Sweetgrass, All Fours, I Who Have Never Known Men, The Creative Act, Big Magic...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived and traveled in a cutie vintage van for a year! It broke down in Santa Cruz, California and I never left. It led me to my new home (a flower farm!), an amazing community and my (first) perfect little art studio. All with an ocean view!
