About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Immerse myself in new places, meet new people, have new experiences that can inform my fiction writing

ABOUT ME

Filling in these profile things kind of scares me -- so many questions! But this seems like the place to mention that I have a girlfriend who lives and works in New York; and also that I'm a vegetarian (though dairy, eggs, and even fish are okay).

PHILOSOPHY

Stay open to new ideas.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was a senior in high school in the foothills of the Himalayas, I went on a six-week school trip by train all around India. The sleeper car we rented was dropped off on a siding at each new town and served as our "hotel" until it was time to attach it to another train and move on. We traveled from Delhi in the north, to Calcutta in the east, through Orissa down to the southern tip of India, up the west coast to Bombay, and through the desert of Rajasthan back to Delhi. Off the coast of Kerala, we swam at night in water that glowed from phosphorescence.
