About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Our mission is to see as much European culture as possible in our time here.
ABOUT ME
Hi my name is Paul Stuart. I am a 19 year old American currently in a one semester exchange in the Netherlands. Two of my close friends (1 boy 1 girl) from my home university are also here and the three of us travel together. None of us have ever been to Europe and we are determined to see as much as possible while we are here.
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy in life is to make the most of every gift given to me. I intend to do this in my every day life by working as hard as I can in activities such as school, work, and athletics. I view my time in Europe as in opportunity and intend to take advantage of it by experiencing as much of the culture as possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I intend to participate in CS by being as polite as possible to any of my hosts. My friends and I promise to do any cleaning, buy our own groceries, obey any quiet hours set by the host, and answer any questions about ourselves and our hometown.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have never participated in this before but have heard good things about it from students at my university.
Interests
I have been running competitively since I was 12 years old and would like to participate in a road race in a major European city. I also have a great interest in art, culture, and history especially World War II.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite kind of music is Country Western, but I used to play piano and enjoy this music as well. I enjoy a large range of movies my favorites being ones that bring a certain political or societal issue into light such as Pay it Forward. My favorite books are mostly fantasy including the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings series.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing I have done in my lifetime is competed in the Nebraska State Cross Country Championship. Qualifying for the state race is extremely competitive, and required me to train for four years. At the qualifying meet our team were big underdogs but three of our runners ran their best race of the year and we were able to qualify. The race itself was a great experience because I got to compete against the best runenrs in the state. I will never forget running the last 200 meters of the race with hundreds of screaming fans lining both sides of the course.
Teach, Learn, Share
I was raised in a state called Nebraska that, due to its small size, is not well known throughout the world. I enjoyed growing up in Nebraska and enjoy even more sharing it with other people. Nebraska is an agricultural state known for corn, quality beef, and our work ethics. Nebraska has a great sense of community throughout the whole state.
