About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

I am a cheerful, friendly, and outgoing gal. I seem to change my life drastically when things become too routine. My apartment rental contract ended in January '11 so I decided to hit the road. I worked on a farm in Tarragona for 3 weeks, spent another month in Spain, way too short of time in Portugal, and now I am in this wonderful place called ITALY!

I am an artist and can't wait to get back home and start creating again. This trip has been packed full of inspiration. I have met so many great people and I can't wait to meet you! I like to work with my hands, sewing, crafting, web design, cooking, baking, etc..

PHILOSOPHY

You control your destiny. Have the faith and the confidence to live your dream life. Keep learning until your very last day on earth. I believe this is the key to happiness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to the couch surfing community and am currently traveling so I don't have any place to host other travelers yet. I have hosted people before I joined this site and plan to do so again once I get back to California. I live near many beautiful beaches and can take you out on a boat if you like!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had heard of this community but both my first encounter was by coincidence. While I was at work at a local bar in Newport Beach I met three guys (one local and two foreigners). They were very interesting and after a quick chat I learned that the two travelers were from Turkey and they chose my bar as a meeting place to meet their couch host!  Within the next few months, I bought a ticket to Europe and couchsurfed through France, Spain, Portugal and Italy.  It was a wild experience and I was really glad to have the CS community as a resource.  It truly enriched my travel experience and I still keep in touch with most everyone I met.My family owns a boat rental in Newport Harbor and since it is very seasonal, we like to host and employ travelers who come to stay for the summer and need a temporary summer job. I have met a couple really nice gals this way. Keep this in mind if you come to visit Southern California!

Interests

I enjoy working with my hands.. sewing, constructing costumes, cooking, design, dancing..

I like to be creative in any way possible whether making an elaborate birthday cake, designing a crazy hat, or sewing my own clothes. On the side I help out the family business by building and managing our website which has been a great learning experience.
