Hotels are expensive and boring, travel guides are fluff. There simply isn't a better way of knowing about a place than staying in with like minded locals, and finding out more about the city from them. Couchsurfing could also be a great opportunity to make new friends.

I like music, long walks, travelling, I've travelled across India and Sri Lanka extensively cooking for myself, i like reading whenever i can, for some time in my life i was also a movie buff, i recently learned home brewing

My music taste is very varied, and there's a genre/ artist for every mood. But some favs off the top of my head would be Nick Drake, Tom Misch, Jimi Hendrix, John Mayer, Dire straits, SRV, Nusrat Khan... apart from that, I’m a big blues-head as a guitarist

Books - Rumi, Books on history, PG Wodehouse, Arundhati Roy, Amartya Sen, William Dalrymple, Italo Calvino, right now, reading- Why nations fail, an inquiry into why some nations are prosperous while others are not
