Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, traveling isn’t just about visiting new places—it’s about meeting new people, listening to their stories, and experiencing different cultures firsthand. Couchsurfing is the perfect way to do that because it offers more than just a typical tourist experience; it creates real, meaningful connections.

I love spending time with hosts, seeing their city through their perspective, and truly feeling the essence of a place. There are things you can’t learn from guidebooks or travel blogs—only from the people who live there.

Beyond just being a guest, I also want to give back to the Couchsurfing community—by sharing experiences, learning from others, and one day hosting travelers myself. I’m here to connect with open-minded people, engage in deep conversations, and embrace life as an adventure.

If you share a similar outlook on travel and life, I’d love to sit down with you over a cup of coffee, tea, or a beautiful view and exchange stories!

Interests

I have a curious mind and love exploring different aspects of life. Some of my main interests include:
• Travel & Adventure: I enjoy discovering new places, experiencing different cultures, and stepping out of my comfort zone. Whether it’s exploring a hidden gem in a city or going on an unplanned trip, I love the thrill of adventure.
• Music & Movies: I have a deep appreciation for music and cinema. From soulful indie tracks to classic rock, I enjoy discovering new sounds. When it comes to movies, I love thought-provoking films, inspiring travel movies, and deep storytelling.
• Books & Learning: I enjoy reading books about self-growth, philosophy, and travel. I believe that every book has something valuable to offer, whether it’s a new perspective or a lesson about life.
• Food & Cooking: I love trying different cuisines and experimenting with cooking. I believe food is one of the best ways to connect with people and cultures.
• Meaningful Conversations: Whether it’s discussing life, different cultures, or just sharing personal experiences, I enjoy deep and meaningful conversations that open up new perspectives.

I’m always open to new experiences and learning from the people I meet. If we share any common interests, I’d love to chat about them!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:

I love listening to different cultural music, especially local folk, indie, jazz, and reggae. While traveling, I often discover new songs and enjoy sharing my playlist with my hosts or fellow travelers. If you have any great music recommendations, I’d love to hear them!

Movies:

I enjoy movies that make you think, like Inception, Into the Wild, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Before Sunrise, etc. These films inspire me with their themes of travel, self-discovery, and adventure. I also appreciate international art-house and documentary films because they offer a glimpse into different cultures and ways of life.

Books:

I love travel memoirs, biographies, and philosophical books. Some of my favorites include The Alchemist (Paulo Coelho), Siddhartha (Hermann Hesse), and Shantaram (Gregory David Roberts). These books provide deep insights into life, travel, and self-discovery. If you have a book that has inspired you, I’d love to add it to my reading list!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

“One Amazing Thing I Have Done”

One time, I spent a night on a deserted island where there were no hotels, no internet, and no lights—just the sound of ocean waves, a glowing moon, and me!

It all happened as part of an unplanned adventure when my boat drifted off course, and I ended up on an unknown island. At first, it felt a bit scary, but as the night went on, I found myself completely connected to nature. I gathered wood to make a fire, sat by the shore watching countless stars, and for the first time, truly listened to the sound of silence.

This experience was not just an adventure but also a lesson—it made me realize how often we take small comforts in life for granted. When I finally left the island the next morning with the help of a fisherman, I felt a newfound energy, confidence, and an even greater passion for exploring the world!

What I Can Share with Hosts

As a guest, I believe in bringing something meaningful to every place I stay, whether it’s good conversation, cultural exchange, or simply a positive and respectful presence. Here’s what I can share with my hosts:
• Stories & Experiences: I love sharing travel stories, cultural insights, and life experiences. Whether it’s discussing different perspectives, exchanging ideas, or just having a good laugh over past adventures, I enjoy meaningful conversations.
• Language & Culture: If you’re interested, I can teach you some phrases from my native language, introduce you to my culture, or even cook a traditional dish from my home country.
• Music & Movies: I have a deep appreciation for music and cinema, and I’d love to exchange playlists, recommend great movies, or even watch one together if you’re up for it.
• Respect & Positivity: Above all, I value kindness and respect. I always make sure to be a considerate guest, clean up after myself, and contribute in any way I can—whether it’s helping with small chores or simply bringing a positive vibe to your home.

I believe the best part of Couchsurfing is the exchange of knowledge, perspectives, and friendships. I’m excited to learn from my hosts just as much as I hope to share with them!
