Hi!

I am new to the couchsurfing community. Now that I am living in Vancouver Island, I love exploring the island with its many natural places and artsy venues - and so I like to host events to bring people together and explore the city with.

I consider myself a humanist who likes to get into the hows and whys of what people feel, think, do, and enjoy in their day to day lives. With that being said, I also like to carve out time for myself in nature and look within. Hence, I love writing, creating songs, stories, plays, and poems to capture the human drama.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to start traveling the world. I have met down-to-earth, eccentric, fun-loving surfers, and mindblown by the existence of such a group. I believe I can learn from many, and can also share my life experiences.

Interests

I believe everyone is an artist. By discovering the world around us, we can all be creators. I love discovering my inner "child/artist" and my interests reflect myself both as a spectator and a participant in art.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked with children from different age groups. Just seeing the growth and the truth about how it really does take a village to raise a child, is a truth that I realize more societies should practice. And now working with adults in transitions, I also realize that we as adults need to be a part of a community(s) to thrive.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love cooking and would love to share my favourite dishes. If you enjoy music, we can write a song together and or sing together. I can bring my clarinet (I'm relearning), and play a couple of tunes and on a good day mix a couple vocals together.

I love having philosophical and or meaningful conversations and of course humour is always cherished.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I believe in respect, and in "walking a mile in others' moccasins" when you happen upon a stranger. With that in mind, I leave a place cleaner than I have found it, understand social cues when it's time to give someone space. I am also aware of the cost of living and will pitch in with grocceries and gas.
