Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Balancing the steps of the inner and outer journey.
ABOUT ME
Life has carried me to some unexpected places. After several winters in India, six months teaching in China, two busy, beautiful years in London studying Anthropology at SOAS and working with refugees, plus a few nomadic soul-wandering years, I grew tendrils in the Californian foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. I spent a year living in a small Bhakti Yoga organic farm community, where we hosted frequent festivals, community kirtans and trips to the nearby Sequoia National Park. I'm finally back in England, having landed in the sweet valleys of Stroud, which is a whole new landscape for me. I’m working as a freelance editor, while keeping my own creative embers burning and I'm pretty excited about whatever the Unknown has planned for me next!
PHILOSOPHY
Compassion, humility, service, empathy. The teachings of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosted, surfed, road-tripped, shared several cups of tea. It's been beautiful so far, I'm grateful for CS on this journey.
Update: at the moment I’m not in a space to host, but if you’re travelling through or even from Stroud yourself and feel like hanging out, exploring, etc I’m happy to do that! Stories, ideas and food can still be shared :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couch surfed in Turkey, Canada, USA, Scotland and Mexico. Hosted in London and India. Road-tripped via CS in Iceland. It's all been good so far!

Music, Movies, and Books
Those who speak to me: Rainer Maria Rilke, Hermann Hesse, Joy Harjo, Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Maharaja, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura, Carl Jung
Movies: Waking Life, My Dinner with Andre, Beasts of the Southern Wild, to name but a few.
There's a sound I'm searching for that I haven't yet heard, but I'll know it when I do. Current song obsessions: Emancipator's Anthem, Patrick O'Hearn's Beyond This Moment, Damien Rice and Cantus Domas's It Takes a Lot to Know a Man, and DakhaBrakha's Vesna.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Performed kirtan (sacred Bengali and Sanskrit music/mantra meditation) with with inmates in a US maximum security prison.
Attended several exhilarating pilgrimages throughout rural India with thousands of other pilgrims.
Love is pretty amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
That depends on who we are when we meet :)
Stories are a good place to begin.
Teach me what you know!
I can do rune readings and dream analysis.
I have limited ukulele skills but I like to sing - always looking to expand my musical courage.
We could explore and make art together!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Spirit, stories, kirtan, a bit of poetry, and maybe some enthralling conversation long into the night.
