About Me

Hi there!
We’re Sue & Patrick, an adventure-loving couple with a soft spot for the outdoors. Whether we’re hiking rugged mountain trails, riding our mountain bikes through forests and hills, or diving into water adventures, nature is where we feel most at home.

We travel to connect with people, places and stories. We love sharing laughs over homemade meals, learning about local life and contributing wherever we can. We’re open-minded, respectful guests who believe every journey is richer when it’s shared.

Looking forward to meeting you and getting a glimpse into your world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I (Sue) first discovered Couchsurfing during my solo trip to the United States from March to August 2016, and I absolutely fell in love with it. What drew me in was the idea of connecting with locals and experiencing a country beyond tourist sights, in a way that felt real, personal, and human.

During those months, I stayed with amazing hosts all across the U.S., and I was blown away by the kindness and openness of people who didn’t know me at all, yet welcomed me like an old friend. It wasn’t just about a free place to sleep. It was about sharing meals, conversations, laughter, and little slices of everyday life.

Some of those short encounters turned into deep connections and lasting friendships. I carry those stories and moments with me, and they continue to shape how I travel: with curiosity, gratitude, and a big love for the people behind every door I’ve been lucky enough to walk through.

Interests

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
