About Me

I've been working some years on developing open source appropriate technologies, things to do with energy, water, communications, health, etc.
Middle of 2014 I spent in India, working in slums and remote areas to help people design and build basic stuff to help in their everyday lives.

Through the next year I'll be travelling through the US and Latin America, visiting projects and working with people along the way to design and build the things they need, using what they have.

I'm pretty easy to host, low to no requirements other than spending good time with decent people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Haven't had the opportunity to host anyone yet, but been using the site and going to events and meetups for a while now.

I've stayed with people in Asia, Europe, and the Uk.
I love my
I was one of the earlier people on CS, heard about it in the startup days from a flatmate in Vancouver who was mates with one of the developers.

Music, Movies, and Books

Fight club, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, magnolia, spirited away, akira, amelie, almost any music, zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance, good omens, midnight's children, the unbearable lightness of being.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Overnight trip with six others in a hire car to the north of Scotland for an annular eclipse.

Overnight trip with three others in a hire car back to Vancouver from staying with a native cheif in Bella Coola, under the most spectacular northern lights display in years.

Overnight(s) trip through the Tibetan high mountain passes, on a three day sleeper bus, sneaking in without permits.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think almost everything of value I've learned has been from someone I've met on some road somewhere.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United States, Viet Nam
