Overview
About Me
At 73, I'm still very much alive. I enjoy theatre, film, music, great food and authentic connection with aware folks. I'm smoke, drug and alcohol free, but not prudish about those subjects. Because I spent so many years on my spiritual journey, I have to keep working. But I do enjoy meeting interesting people who don't live on the surface of this weird culture! If I stay with you, I sincerely hope it is synergistic and that I will be able to return the favor.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Retirement is not an option for me, but that doesn't mean I don't like to travel. Funds are limited, and any new place is so much more interesting if I get to meet someone who lives there. I like to travel light.
Interests
I put my interests in the about me section. Of music: classical, jazz, opera, broadway. Of art: most any form that I can get a handle on. Of Film: stories with a twist, or odd or thought provoking. Of theatre, what to say? I live and volunteer for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Of food, French is my fav closely followed by Greek. I like big taste.

Music, Movies, and Books
All these questions keep trying to put me into a convenient pigeon hole. Because the world keeps opening up to me, I don't want to say Gabirel Faure is the best composer, I keep finding new/old/unexplored music. As for the rest of it, if I can find at least a hand hold on the art, the film, the theatre, the food, then I let it work on me and decide about it later. Is that enough?
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was married, my wife's mother passed away. We were living on Maui when she called me. I was in Florida taking care of my declining father. She wanted me to join her in Germany. But my passport had expired. Within 30 hours, I had gotten to Washington DC, gotten a new passport, flown to Germany and arrived at my wife's home two hours after she had arrived from Maui.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have 60 years of work on myself. Lived in an ashram in India and come out the other side. Still learning how to live in the world with kindness. If I could get macro enough, I think I'd see why this reality is so perfect. I'm not there yet.
