About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To out find where love really lives..

ABOUT ME

Adventurous, caring and friendly, I m a wondering, curious soul..sometimes the better part of my imagination leads me to do random things and act impulsively. I tend to enjoy doing, the hands on approach is always more lively than bringing words or theory to life. Thats not always a good thing I know however I ve always found a balance.

I have appreciated the cultural differences and short history of Australia more being 31 as compared to my drink fuelled younger days, dealing with the multicultural side of being here is a real lesson in itself, just knowing how to make yourself understood is a valuable skill especially where a language barrier can pose a challenge.

PHILOSOPHY

I m looking carefully these days at what I want out of my journey across Australia, what ever I expected to happen when I first arrived here has taken some spell binding twists, not all for the worst though - I ve lived a good life and been very lucky, its cool to learn just how few posessions you need for daily survival.

I enjoy making the most of any situation I find myself in, get a kick out of helping others and reading in to anything of historical significance. Being strong willed through my travels has meant sometimes I ve had to back track and look at life through someones elses eyes and listen that bit more. Everyone has there reasons for travelling and I m still discovering mine -
I love taking photos and living outdoors.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to understand the areas I visit through the eyes of the people I meet and by talking them, living alongside locals, this gives me the kind of insight that will help me make the most of my journey. I m hoping that mingling with people from here will enble me to learn more about myself and learn from how others live, even becoming a better travelled person in my own country through cultural exchange.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I m new to this site so I hope to add stories here very soon.

Interests

I m in to a myriad of activities, watching wildlife, catching up with films from the pages I’ve filled up, written down off having suggestive conversations with people. Sorting through, listening, understanding lyrics to those tunes you‘ve never heard in ages – pub quizzes or even ones you make up your self. I’ve started my 2nd year visa now, so since arriving in Aussie wonderland I’ve been in to cooking, mainly chicken dishes, veggie gardens, tree/plant maintenance, horticultural projects, dairy farming, fruit picking/ I would like to work as a consersavtion volunteer for the National Parks at some point.

Just about anything, although I ve still got to learn how to surf properly, spectator sports, skiing, keeping fit, adrenaline junkie sports, art expo/cinema all fit in my travelling matrix.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies, I ve always made a point of going to the cinema at least once a week, lets save the finer points of discussing films until I meet you. Music wise - Anything from rock music, dance, indie/pop, electronica, future sounds..I did study music for a while before leaving home, I dont mind some Jazz and Classical to hibernate to and rewind the mind once the sun decides to disappear.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 1997, I was at the gardens of Buckingham Palance to receive my Duke of Edinburghs Gold Award, which took 7 years to complete - I met some celebrities amidst standing alongside all my school friends, a proud moment, it was hovering around the 30 degree mark which for England is really good. Great day - thanks to my parents for helping me see it through.

Teach, Learn, Share

Couch Surfing is something I probably wouldn't of tried likely had I not of been travelling now. Its a future online meeting hub. Coming from different backgrounds and in to a home setting, I`ll like to be sharing local knowledge of the city/area, food & drink indulgences, top fishing/hot spots, past work experiences, film & sporting history to TV shows.
