Where do I start?

I'm 18, which I think means stepping out into the "adult" world for the first time. But by now, I'm pretty sure the rest of you are just faking it. (Actually I'm 19 now, but this still applies)

My life philosophy is to be positive and spread good vibes everywhere I am. Sure, life isn't all laughs and mistakes are an integral part of it. But we should always keep our chin up and believe that our dreams are within reach!
Exchanging kindness with strangers reminds me we're all together in this wacky submarine through Life.

I'm a pretty sentimental guy. When I laugh, I stamp. After a sad film or the end of a huge event (like finishing school), I'm not afraid to blink a lot or even wipe my hand on my face.

*We can do morning stretches, like yoga or the ones I made up 🧘‍♂️

My first dream was to be an explorer - then I discovered that they found all the continents 😔 (unless they missed one??) I can still be an explorer though, through books and travel. I love meeting people from other cultures, discovering their histories and practising languages.

My special interests are in Technology and History. What are you looking at right now? Your phone - a technological marvel. Why do Spaniards generally have a different personality than to the French? A historical tale! Why did America put a man on the moon before the Soviets? History AND Technology! See what I mean?? So many interesting questions boil down to a story and some Physics.

In my own life, I know I'm so grateful for Wikipedia, Quora, YouTube. Without them I would be dopey 🤷‍♂️

We owe such a big debt to all the scientific minds that came before us. It really inspires me to do some amazing scientific research in the future and give back! If we ever manage to beat climate change, end hunger, educate every last person on Earth, it will be because of a fantastic new technology (and not our politicians... Unless they all die off rather quickly)

My other dream is to write a novel, but I'm a little worried I'll have the dream forever without ever writing it. Maybe I'll start, just as soon as I finish writing this ;)

I'm light, relaxed and friendly. My personal philosophy is Life is always gonna try and get you down - if you can't laugh, then you have to cry.

I love a good laugh, I love to be inspired. I love nature and I love that feeling when things click into place.

But seriously, the experiences I have had while Couchsurfing have been unforgettable. Watching Spanish short films on a coach, cooking pancakes for 4 hours because the batter was wrong, breakfast over a forest...
The generosity I've experienced on Couchsurfing has been incredible - people everywhere are so kind and that is what amazes me most about Couchsurfing.

Also the cultural exchange during a Couchsurf has been totally fascinating! I love to meet and to cook and to be together with others, especially since I believe many of us on Couchsurfing are similar (we are open minded, generous, adventurous).

I hated card games until I went to Nepal and we played every night. Now I appreciate how a good card game brings everyone together. I like the psychological and mathematical elements of them too - in one game!

I know a few good jokes! And I'm keen to be a great Couchsurfing guest and help out as much as I can. My about me should tell you a little bit about what I can tell stories about. There was a time when I used to play a little British music on guitar. I suppose ultimately I believe I can inject a little bit of joy into your life?

Sports are my passion - I want to try all of them! The feeling of burning lungs, the fire of competition, I am totally addicted. In London, we play mainly basketball and football, but I've done kayaking, jiu-jitsu, tennis, sailing, climbing, rugby - all sorts. You wanna have a game? I'm down!

I also have a special, secret pancake recipe just for hosts.... 😋 And can try my hand at a curry ;)!
