About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To earn enough money doing something silly so that I can afford to uproot my life and fling myself off on another series of adventures next year. And then write about all of it.

ABOUT ME

I make friends easily, despite the fact that I'm very introspective and tend to get lost in my own world given the chance. I'm something of a daredevil when it comes to, say, climbing things and jumping off them, but I never risk the safety of others. I also have a stupidly high tolerance for bad movies. Oh, and I love making food from unknown ingredients. Sometimes it turns out better than others.

PHILOSOPHY

Be excellent to each other.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Over the summer of 2012 I went on a solo trip around the USA (traveling via Amtrak), and couchsurfed in most cities I landed in! It was fantastic.

Interests

I'm a writer who just managed to scrounge a couple degrees from Case Western Reserve University; I sing, play the cello and pretend to play the piano; I like to sketch and throw paint; I've been known to stay up all night reading or watching Joss Whedon shows...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once climbed a mountain in Switzerland, at dawn, with a head cold and a serious case of being fourteen years old. Still, the view (and the knowledge that I managed to scramble up there by myself) made all of that seem entirely inconsequential.

On another note, I was left speechless by almost the entire PS3 game Journey. So there's that.
