Hello, my name is SungEun and I was born and raised in South Korea. I study in the US for my bachelor on psychology and political science. Now I am studying in the Netherlands for one semester as an exchange student. I am really enjoying my time in Europe. My goal for this year is to meet new people and get immersed into their culture.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I would like to learn the local culture of different places. I could just visit touristy places and stay at a hostel, but I would love to meet the local people and hear their life stories. Also, as a psychology major I am really interested in listening to people's sincere stories.

I so far had amazing experiences with couchsurfing and it was the highlight of my trip! I had two amazing hosts in Switzerland and they really made us realize how warm hearted swiss people are :)

Alain de Botton is my favorite author. I really like his writing style and his insight. I don't necessarily agree to all his arguments, but I think he is really insightful. As for movies, my favorite is Leon: the professional.

Deciding to come to EUROPE and the Netherlands! I met a lovely roommate and friends. I am trying different things everyday and I feel so loved here. It was the BEST decision I've ever made.

I can cook Asian food for them (as long as they have some soy sauce haha) and talk about Asian culture. I've lived in South Korea, China, and visited Japan and Mongolia. So, I can talk about my culture and politics. Also, I am very interested in North Korea and its politics as well! We can talk about anything :D
