**************************
Hi! My name is Sungjoo. I was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, and have lived in Washington, DC.
I enjoy hiking, cooking, public transport (especially metro systems in big Asian cities and the trains in Europe), tea, tea-flavored desserts, road trips, keeping a diary (although I'm pretty bad at being consistent), going to galleries and coming up with a caption for each painting (e.g. caption for Rembrandt's Syndics of the Drapers' Guild: "you can't sit with us"), chocolate, cheese, pebble beaches, photography, and trying out new things.
I enjoy meeting people and being social, but I'm also independent and capable of entertaining myself when the host is busy.
I'll do my best to answer any questions you have about traveling to Seoul, but please be courteous: don't ask me something you can easily Google (e.g. how to get to the city center from the airport). Thank you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I learned that one of my favorite aspects about traveling was meeting people. So far in my travels, I've achieved this mostly by striking up conversations in hostel lobbies or at walking tours. But I want to take this a step further through Couchsurfing. I would love to get a glimpse of the local life and share my experiences and culture with kind-hearted strangers around the world.
