Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Our objective is to see as much of the planet as humanly possible; camping, couchsurfing and meeting new friends along the way.
ABOUT ME
Clay: For the past three years I have been completing a degree in photojournalism and working as a freelance photographer in Columbia, Missouri. Before finding a passion for photography I worked as a computer technician for many years, and held a number of odd jobs including pizza maker, tour guide, waiter, dog walker and barback.
Heather: I have been working as a Para Educator for the last four years, assisting a boy with Cerebral Palsy as he graduated from middle school and worked his way through high school. I also have extensive experience working with children as I held a second job at a daycare for many years. I like to write in my spare time and I am working on completing an English degree.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that we each get one life, and that it is our solemn duty to have as much fun as humanly possible while we are here.
I also believe that we have the potential to create any kind of world we want, but that we are currently squandering that potential in almost every way imaginable.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We have stayed with two hosts in the Seattle area who were excellent tour guides and quickly became good friends.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We've only used couchsurfing in the Seattle area so far. We are both looking forward to surfing with some wonderful people in other areas and hosting other wonderful people as soon as we find a place to settle.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just before Christmas 2009 I earned a class 'A' skydiving license while traveling in New Zealand. A Danish friend and I stayed for a month in beautiful Motueka, NZ, where we got to skydive almost daily over mountains, oceans and national parks all squeezed into a few hundred square miles. Seeing the sunset at 13,000 feet over that landscape was by far the most amazing thing I've ever seen.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share a great deal of technical knowledge about computer hardware, software, digital cameras, and other electronics. I often get asked for informal "picture lessons" and am happy to share photography tips and tricks.
I also have seven years of martial arts experience in Aikido, the Japanese system of self-defense known as "The Way of Harmony," and I am happy to share that with anyone who is interested as well.
