ABOUT ME

David Lam, the post-90s, backpacker, travel writer, photographer. Loving travelling, cycling, rock-climbing, swimming, hiking, writing and photography, he keeps seeking the feeling which can take his ease and make him free.Due to some family reasons, he dropped out of high school in his first year. Tired of the city life, two years later, he began to plan a cycling trip. Never out his own city, no traveling and riding experiences, not even ever took a train, without telling his family, he got a bike and cycled to Tibet, alone. It is a hard journey, which is 2200 kilometers long, over ten 4000m-high mountains and two 5000m-high snow-mountains, and cost 31 days! A lot of stories happened on his way, there are snow, glaciers, forests, canyons, cliffs, blizzards, high altitude reaction, mud-rock flows, robbers, which would be a nightmare for a travel-beginner. After this trip, he wrote a travel book, which makes him very popular and turns out a best-seller in China. From "social man " to a " travel writer ", he ran out of the city and started his three-year-wandering-tour. He refuses commercial sponsorship, and makes money all by his own hands. He writes travel columns for magazines and newspapers, sells his books and postcards at his stall and also makes handicrafts by his own to sell. Sleeping on wild snow mountain, drinking mountain spring, cooking on camp fire, all these experiences are for the poupose of saving money, and traveling to some further places. Now he is writing his second book. Maybe one month later, this August, he will start his next plan: backpacking trip around the world: Nepal, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Israel, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, start from Tibet,China, with his girlfriend. And after this, his third book will be published.
