About Me
CURRENT MISSION
doing shorttrack speedskating in Korea this winter
ABOUT ME
I'm a really open minded person. I love things and people that are surprising, fresh and out of the ordinary. I am easy going and like to socialize, laugh and sometimes flirt a little bit:)
I also like to discuss and argue, but that might not come as a surprise from a possibly-future-lawyer or does it? I can be stuborn and strong-willed, but given some time I am well able to open myself up to new thoughts or ideas.
I noticed I use the word I a lot in these boxes, but I don't really know how to avoid it, given the purpose of letting people know a bit about who 'I' am:)
PHILOSOPHY
carpe diem, hate cliches, but love paradoxes. Would you hazard a guess at my 'religion' at this point?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would like to try to become an involved member, make my 'couch' available for as many nice and good spirited people as possible.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
No couch surfing experience yet, but on my travels in Thailand and Vietnam I was fortunate enough to meet a few locals who were so kind to offer me accommodations and to show me around.
Interests
I love good electronic music and parties, but also hip hop, jazz and classical music.
I Recently discovered modern ballet (just to watch), and come to think of it, I rather like a few other 'girly' things - like shopping, fashion, dancing and even some chick flicks (SOME, definetely not all mind you!).
This may be a bit silly of me but having said this I feel the need to elaborate that I'm not gay or 'metrosexual'.. I don't look like David Beckham, spend too much time in the gym, go to the sun studio or wear 100 Euro colognes, but still think I look and smell fine:P
'Manly' things I like are beer, (combat and extreme) sports, women (quite the paradox eh), stupid jokes, BBQ .
I do and have done lots of sports myself, such as shorttrack ice skating, capoeira, wall climbing, tennis and table tennis.
I like to be fit, but hate boring exercise such as running, or the gym; doing lots of sports which I actually find fun to do helps both my mind and body I think.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have quite a broad field of interests in general, which also reflects upon the kind of films and music I like.
My appreciation goes out to Guy Ritchie films, Coen Brothers, Mulholland Drive, Trainspotting, Dogville, The Matrix, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Factotem, Romance and sigarettes, Walk the Line, Capote, Batman (begins), etc, etc. I love to go to the Cinema (have a subscription/access card for it)
My taste in music is equally broad. I don't really like most pop music, but I can appreciate quality in pretty much any genre. Favourites are Electronic (Audio Bullys, Trentemoller, Ellen Allien & Apparat, Efdemin, James Holden, Thomas Brinkmann, etc), Hip Hop (The Roots, A Tribe Called Quest, Jurassic 5, J-Live, Dilated Peoples, Colossus, Camp Lo, Cypress Hill), jazz (John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, Thelonius Monk, Charles Mingus, Ella Fitzgerald.
The list is too long already (although far from complete or even accurate), so you are lucky I don't really have enough time to read many other books than law books at the moment. I love the Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk though ("my name is Crimson" is brilliant)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Saw sharks (at 30m below sea level) while scuba diving, looked out over Bangkok from the 84th story, breakdance skills in Hanoi (Tanh, if you're out there: big up!), experiencing what it's like to really love someone (that I'm writing this down even though it is such a huuuuge cliché is proof that I really do find it amazing and special).
Teach, Learn, Share
Difficult to think of concrete knowledge to blast on here right now, but you can ask me about things such as (Dutch) copyright law, patent law, telecommunications and media law, privacy, freedom of speech, etc...though you probably won't want to..:p
Also ask me about the sports I practice or maybe my 'religion'(if you can guess it)
Countries I’ve Visited
Thailand, Viet Nam
Countries I’ve Lived In
