About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to share joy by staying happy...win-win!
ABOUT ME
2023: I now work full-time, Monday - Friday, but still have weekends free. I love where and how I live, and am eager to show it to others.
PHILOSOPHY
Do no harm. Have fun if you can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Travelers now rate a thick, comfortable shikibuton on the floor in my room, in a shared apartment; there are now two of these comfy mats available. Due to the nature of small rooms and many bodies, short stays usually work out best, but it's a pretty comfortable and chill setting. My surfers say so, too! Also, I'm getting good at playing tour guide -- I love northern California and want you to love it too, so I tend to take my surfers to good places.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted some really cool people, and heard many tales and some good music...eaten tasty food...and shared fun experiences with travellers. I've genuinely enjoyed meeting and hosting everyone who's stayed here.
I also have noticed that I describe most of my surfers as "adventurous," which is sort of redundant; if you're traveling freely and using CS for lodging, then you are by definition adventurous. I need a better vocabulary.
Interests
You can't stay here without at least being invited to a firedancing event...and you really should attend one. I don't spin, but I love the energy and the social aspects of the scene. Otherwise, I volunteer for one four-hour shift on Saturdays at our local Amtrak station (for the people, not for the trains), and I've met a few CSers that way; I have a room filled with books and other amusements; I like to eat well.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't watch a lot of TV, and not many movies, but I'm not averse to the idea. I have a room full of books, 99% nonfiction.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Big Sur always strikes awe in me -- wanna go?
