About Me

I am an optimistic, open-hearted and -minded person. I do care a lot for my friends and family. I started studying medicine 2012 and fell in love with Lübeck, because it has so tiny houses and everywhere is water and so you have the best time in the summer. I learned wind surfing and diving and through I have a really bad balance, I had very much fun doing so.

This year I would have had the first part of my last exam, but decided to make a break for half a year and go to Rome for an half year life as an erasmus student. My goal is it to speak proper italian. And to get out of my comfort zone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Finding and being a friendly and intesting host. It is always nice to meet people with similiar ideas of life and sometimes even more educating to meet people with different views. This or that way we can grow.

Music, Movies, and Books

Haha! I think this is a trap question. I have to admit that everytime I am sad I start reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen to myself. A sure way to lift my spirits. But I grew up with Harry Potter on my shelf, and I was upset for a week reading the end of Anna Karenina.

Right now I am reading the ending of ,,Of human Bondage" which grew very dear to me. I feel really connected to the main character Philip, who is interested in art, but learns he is not a genuis, and therefore starts studying medicine. Also he is kind of an idealist and a dreamer and really romantic. I really recommend reading this book.

Music questions are hard to answer for me to answer. I could not live without music, but i have not a musical ear. But with Bob Dylan, Tracy Chapman, Hugh Laurie (yes, he makes also music, and he is really good), Jack Johnson and Mumford and Sons you'll always get me sing along. And I discovered last year that I really like to dance to techno music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Three month before I started my erasmus in Rome I decided to move from my old flat (with two amazing roomates) into a waggon which stands on an milk farm. I thought maybe it would not be worth because the stress of moving and only for three month. But I had such a nice summer, with the big garden, a trampoline, 2 goats (Bella and Donna), 3 chicken, more than 200 cows and 10 inspiring housemates.
Sometimes it is worth the risk and the courage and better than to regret things that you did not try...

And spending a month in Senegal. I am in a charity founded by friends and me, seeing that our work pays off and we are changing some children's life. That was amazing and felt more important than anything I have ever done. www.future-edm.com
