About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I am on a pilgrimage collecting images and memories.
ABOUT ME
I love the beach, hanging out with my friends in the shade, snorkeling with my dogs and husband and daughters, not all at the same time. We have two Labrador retrievers who are great swimming companions. Our routine is a ten minute drive to the beach and 45 minutes in the water. I saw a black tipped shark while snorkeling last week. It was sleek and beautiful.
PHILOSOPHY
I am liberal, a dreamer, optimistic...you guessed it...an Obama supporter!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have just heard about the CS2 Project and think it is a great idea, especially for younger people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
When I first traveled to Europe, I stayed in youth hostels, a great way to connect. My last two trips were walking in Spain. I have never actually couch surfed. When my daughters were in school, we had an exchange student from New Zealand and there always seemed to be extra teenagers staying over, one for months on end.
Interests
My two most memorable trips were a watercolor workshop in Bali in 1991 and volunteering at a pilgrim refugio in Rabanal del Camino in Spain in 2004.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love to read novels, lately Indian such as A Suitable Boy and The Unaccustomed Earth. I show my students the Bollywood classic Lagaan every year. They love it and I never get tired of it. I listen to an eclectic mix of music. Reggae always cheers me up and Chant calms me down.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I saw 200 baby reef squids...I counted.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach drawing and painting. I love making stuff, from altered books to paper cranes.
