About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm married to a pretty wonderful man. 4 children, all amazing. Lived all over the world, but not as many places as I'd have wished. Seek out adventure, music, wandering, museums, concerts and plays, dining in good and bad restaurants. We love sitting on our own deck or in cafes, drinking coffee and watching people. I love poetry, a good book, a cup of tea and a fire in winter, living in the woods, picnics, making things from scratch, and taking the road less traveled. I teach, paint, keep trying to be a good writer. I'm a Christian but won't convert you. I've been so many things, but I'd rather know about you. I make a mean spaghetti sauce but am not Italian, coos coos, but not as good as being there, blackberry pie in the summer/homemade bread in winter, and could live off chocolate chip cookies. My husband loves ice cream (chocolate). I should have been born in Eire or England, or Moroc. Anywhere but LA where I'm from, where I've returned.

If you stay w us (son, husband, me and the bird), you can be any age; it would be nice if you were a couple.

Expect us to be either quite boring or terribly interesting, depending on your outlook and the conversation. We go to bed by 10, but my son stays up. We are usually found correcting papers (we all teach). My husband plays Risk; I usually lose at chess. If you play guitar into the night, we'll love you--just don't bring your dog.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm an English major.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At this time, being back in the States and stressed out trying to ready a cabin for winter, not much use as a couch. But later, esp. if you're part of the Idyllwild Arts community, the bunk house will be ready for habitation.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've slept on couches and floors, church basements and lumpy manor beds in drafty rooms with wandering ghosts.
But we're just as partial to king-sized beds w 400 count sheets and piles of soft pillows.

Interests

I'm an English major who doesn't play Scrabble.

Lots. Lots more.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm sure others have more to teach me than I have to teach them.
