About Me

Hi there! My husband Henry and I live in the mountains near Hope, BC Canada where we used to run a seasonal (summer) eco retreat B and B but we RETIRED IN 2018.
We love to travel and we fell in love with Couchsurfing during our 4 month trip around Australia in 2016-2017:)
We have been volunteer hosts to hundreds of WWOOF and Workaway volunteers over the past 10 years, and we were B and B hosts for 14 years...love it all! Now we are going to try our hand at being great couchsurfing guests and hosts:)
We love a good yak, a good glass of wine, and a laugh...love to cook, and always ready to explore and to meet new people:)
When considering us as hosts please note you will need your own transportation to reach us, please only apply if you are interested in being an interesting/interested surfer -not just looking for a cheap place to sleep...we get tons of requests so please mention the word Eco in your request so we know you read our profile:))

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travel and meeting new people is a life-long journey...we discovered Airbnb while travelling in Chile and we fell in love with couchsurfing while travelling around Australia in a little camper van for 4 months...and love it! We often stay at friends and friends of friends. We often have people stay with us. So, couchsurfing seems like a natural fit for us ... so we can combine many of our loves into one and, hopefully, spread a little cheer while experience other folks' habitats.

Interests

We both love to travel, but are equally happy at times to snuggle at home with Netflix... love to listen to live music and often attend music jams with friends... love to play bridge and other games, to play with our grandchildren, go to the lake, play and work with our volunteers, read...Sue loves to cook and Henry loves to eat!

Music, Movies, and Books

Sue -Play guitar and sing, play kabasa, both of us love all music! Blues is prolly our fave, Sue loves soca/island carribean music, and we wouldn't turn down the volume on anything, really...books we love are mystery and intrigue. A good movie is appreciated but not a high priority in our lives.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living life to the fullest everyday is the most amazing journey!

Teach, Learn, Share

Wow...in addition to our bed and breakfast we have a large organic garden...so we are always learning! With our volunteer hosting we are also in continual teach mode for those who wish:). We share our lives with 3 wonderful grandchildren and two children and their spouses, and a pile of friends:))))

What I Can Share with Hosts

Sue- loves to cook, has a lot of 'Sue-lutions'
Both - can help with housework, shopping, and odd jobs that might need tending-to, share stories, share B and B knowledge, have fun!
