About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm constantly being surprised by the fact that I've been on this planet for more than half a century and still am delighted and awed by the world and people around me. It never gets old, and I'll never know enough.

ABOUT ME

I'm pretty easy going and I like a house full of happy travelers, especially young people (does that make me sound old?) But seriously, I really enjoy the energy and inquisitiveness travelers bring into our home. I just completed my Masters of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing... 35 years after graduating college. Better late than never!

PHILOSOPHY

Be kind, smile, have something good to say and take things seriously, but not too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two weeks walking through the Sahara desert with Bedouines, sleeping on the sand, waking to the sunrise, quiet, contemplative, not a single airplane in the sky, no phones, books, papers, radios. I have to go back. UPDATE: I finally did get back - this time to Morocco. We walked/rode (dromedaries) over 100 km through an incredible landscape. So much different from the Tunisian part of the Sahara! And I left with the same feeling I had last time: I have to go back.
