About Me

CURRENT MISSION

We can sometimes host. I am always open to meeting up and helping with travel plans.

ABOUT ME

We are a mother and daughter (shared account) that have been using couch surfing since I was a little girl.

Maya: I’m a 19 contemporary dancer/student who was born in Costa Rica but have lived most of my life in Spain. I love travelling (especially for dance) and meeting new people. I’ve been living in Madrid for the past year and am now looking to explore different countries and the dance world. I speak both fluent English and Spanish. You can find out more about me when we meet ;)

Susan: Before Spain I lived in Guatemala and then Costa Rica. I thrive in the company of open-minded, humble-hearted people. I love multi-cultural settings and my friends come from a wide variety of backgrounds.

PHILOSOPHY

It's better to travel hopefully than to arrive but arriving in one piece is always good too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have hosted quite a few people and made lots of friends through Couchsurfing. We stay with CSers whenever we can on our travels. We don't host guys on their own.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Before the days of internet.....Arriving by rowing boat to an island in the Cayos Cochinos off La Ceiba, Honduras and having a whole family move out of their hut and insist we stay there. We arrived on the eve of a week-long coming of age festival for a teenage girl that involved a lot of chanting and drinking chicha fuerte. There was one toilet on the island. It was a big wooden comode on stilts at the edge of the sea.
