Overview
About Me
I'm an easy-going lady, doing my best to show up with an open heart in all aspects of my life. My main practice in all things is remembering... remembering to remember all the skills I learned along the way in my life, the tools that work for me, the means of choosing connection instead of closure, etc. Remembering to honor my cats, my family, my friends.
I like to create with and learn about whatever is at hand. If I'm around a woodshop, I work with wood. Or for awhile I was making Ukrainian Easter eggs, or teaching myself some piano, or learning to code HTML (and now just starting Ruby)... knife making, sewing, crocheting, poetry, song-writing, teaching myself left-handed banjo even though I'm right-handed... I like to be interested in what is around me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well, I originally joined because I was hoping to get to meet some interesting new people coming through sometimes to visit the sweet land I was living on at the time... but where I lived was fairly remote, and I never got any visitors via couchsurfing at the time. People showed up in other ways, and stayed, so that was really nice.
Now I'm living in Seattle, but my place I'm in at the moment isn't ideal for guests. I'm moving out soon and am hoping to have a place to invite people there!
I'm interested for the first time now in hopefully staying with some hosts soon, because I'm heading to Boulder for a workshop about metaphors! Maybe I'll get to meet you! :)
Interests
On the rural island I was living on in BC, I got to work with a knife-making mentor, and was thrilled to learn something of that meditative functional craft. I'll post a picture of the first knife I ever made. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once created and curated a variety show on the topic of vulnerability in my community... it was a magical night of deep-winter intimate sharing together of difficult, personal, topics in the form of paintings, prints, sculpture, installations, music, dance, poetry, and speaking from the heart. About 140 people showed up from my 800 person community, so I was floored by their presence and willingness to bring their stories, pain, beauty, and love into the room together.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach you how to patch a flat bike tire, or learn from you more about bike repair.
Haha... lots of things would fit in this category.
If you had fresh goat's milk around, I could teach you how to make chevre.
I could learn how to throw a frisbee better (trying to get better at Ultimate), and could teach you the life lessons I've learned from playing Go.
I could tell you the Robin Hood joke I made up...
What I Can Share with Hosts
+ Help around the house or with projects that need a hand
+ Animal care, if you've got any animal friends
+ A good conversation or three
+ Make you some nourishing food... yum!
+ People tell me I've got a good heart, so I'd bring that with me :)
+ I have some training in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique, or Tapping), so if you wanted a session, I love to work with people in that way...
+ Probably other stuff, too!
