About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Looking to meet nice people and explore some hidden spots..

ABOUT ME

I love dogs but at home we currently have a cat called Tigger. I also used to have rats when I was younger, so I'm not what you might call the typical girl. Similarly I'm not afraid (much) of spiders. I would say my favourite tipple is Amaretto. Although I don't drink that much. I sometimes go a bit wild. But not that often. I collect things. I'm a bit of a hoarderer. I can't help it. I just don't want to throw things away! They have an attachment to me lol. I don't have much self belief when it comes to doing my work which is partly why I'm doing this as I want to get out there by myself.
erm..I don't smoke or do drugs.
I hate people who interrupt me. I was brought up well by my parents and taught manners and how to speak properly (I probably sound very stuck up right now) but people who interrupt show such a lack of respect for the other person, which I hate. Basically treat others how you wish to be treated. Don't plan too much, take each day as it comes and enjoy life!

PHILOSOPHY

Treat people how you wish to be treated.
Live each day- don't look too far ahead..
Don't try to achieve perfection or expect perfection, for when you achieve it, or when it comes to you, that is the surprise you won't expect.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Before I went travelling I was at uni and my housemates were not open to having people surf..then I stayed at my parents after uni, similar story.
No wI am travelling and would very much like to meet people from around the world with different backgrounds and different opinions on life...hopefully through couchsurfing. If I get a place in Australia for a while I may be able to let someone/ some people surf. But for now I am just looking to surf.
Hopefully either in Australia or once I return, I will be able to return the favour.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't couch-surfed yet or hosted anyone. Although when I was at uni we did on occasion let our drunken friends stay on our sofas. :) Plus I know people who have used couchsurfing and raved about it.

Interests

Since starting work in a nursery after I finished uni, I would have to say kids are an interest of mine. I'm quite a caring person and am hoping to try and get some work in the charity sector, during my time in Australia. Maybe some other jobs too- but I'd really like to give this a go. Possibly a children's charity!
People in general and their habits, Exercising- I especially love swimming and when on holiday will either constantly have my bum in the sea or the pool. I think I was a fish in a past life!
Food- I love most types and will pretty much eat anything, I don't ever go on diets. I must stress I do love my meat.
I also like photography- looking at things from different angles-both literally and metaphorically speaking.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some films I like...Blow, Saturday Night Fever, Sweet November, Erin Brockovich, In the Name of the Father, Future Shorts, My Left foot...I have a wide taste. I will admit I'm not good with my history so if I was to go and watch a film which had a lot history in it, well I wouldn't last all the way through! Other than that I love horrors, thrillers, action, comedy, sometimes romance, films that are based on real life are good too...
I have quite varied taste in Music too. I don't like hardcore stuff, you know lots of screaming. But I like a mix from r&b and jazz through to electro and pop and indie. here's some bands i like:
The Bravery, Prodigy, Weezer, AIR, Blur, Wham!, Cornershop, Kate Nash, Bon Jovi, Lily Allen, The Magic Numbers, The White Stripes, Oasis , The Streets, Gabrielle, Spotify, CSS, New Young Pony Club, Vampire Weekend, The Klaxons, Uh Huh Her, Hercules and Love Affair, Paloma Faith, Vixens, Get Set Radio, Klaxons, Mike Skinner and The Streets
I don't read very much... I have read I think nearly all of Janet Evanovich's books. I like the Harry Potter series, when I find a good author I stick with all their books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well more recently- going travelling by myself required a lot of determination and courage.
Wrapping my arms around a massive Tiger in Chiang Mai at Tiger World.
Seeing the Vegetarian festival in Phuket, Thailand- where people willingly insert blades/skewers/ umbrellas/guns/anything really into holes that they make in their face for the day...bit gruesome!
Taught english as a volunteer for two weeks to a class in Khao Lak, Thailand, with no previous experience.
Driven a scooter, having never done so before and then fell off! I live to tell the tale!
Pretty amazing having the honour of going to New York twice!....Seeing the statue of Liberty twice, going to the empire state building both at sunset and at night and the museum of sex! It is amazing and I'd love to go back. I've also visited Florida and The Keys and had dolphins next to me which was amazing and we got to kiss them and our friends have a boat in Florida and I remember the dolphins kept jumping up beside the boat. I'd never experience that in England! The beauty of Turkey. When I was younger we used to visit and it was just so beautiful.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I am good at:
I am I think a pretty good cook and don't mind cooking for people or teaching you if all you can cook is beans on toast!
What I'd like to learn:
If someone is good at painting I'd like them to bring that creative side out in me. Also if someone likes to help people by making them more organised, well I am the star pupil. I need someone like Monica probably. lol
I'd like to learn how to surf as in like wave, water, surf. lol. If someone can teach me how to roller blade better that would be amazing!
