About Me

Hi, I'm from Malaysia with a passion for the outdoors, traveling, and dancing. After more than a decade in diplomacy and international development, I'm now pursuing a Master's in International Law in Göttingen. I've lived in England, Italy, and Australia, which has deepened my cultural awareness and love for exploring new places.

I’m an outgoing person who enjoys sports, hiking, and dancing, and I love chatting and exchanging stories as much as I enjoy a quiet night in. I’m a pescatarian who likes cooking simple, nutritious meals, and I value a clean and organized space. I’m always up for a good adventure and look forward to connecting with like-minded travelers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm currently transitioning from my development career and considering a potential move to Europe, so I’m using Couchsurfing as a way to test the waters. It’s a great opportunity to connect with locals, explore different places, and get a feel for life in Europe while I figure out my next steps. Plus, I love exchanging stories and learning from others along the way!

Interests

I'm passionate about cultural exchange, traveling, and exploring new places. I love diving into new cultures, whether it's through language, food, or stories. From trekking mountains to discovering hidden gems in cities around the world, I’m always eager to connect with people, try new things, and embrace the adventure that each new destination offers.

I live by the saying, “Let winds blow through my window, but not be blown by them,” a philosophy that guides me to stay open-minded yet grounded (a nod to Gandhi, I believe!).

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste is eclectic—some days I like to bop to pop and reggae, and lately, I've been getting into dance and electronic music. Other times, I enjoy tuning into a good podcast, with Trevor Noah being my current favorite. As for books, two that have really resonated with me are *The Alchemist* by Paulo Coelho and *Tuesdays with Morrie* by Mitch Albom.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I’ve done is a solo trek to Everest Base Camp for my 30th birthday. It was an unforgettable adventure where I pushed my limits and soaked in the breathtaking beauty of the Himalayas. Along the way, I made friends with some incredible fellow travelers and even bonded with a few yaks! It was a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and connection with nature and people alike.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning new languages and trying out new food! Cooking for others is one of my favorite things, especially when it leads to exchanging stories—whether they’re real-life anecdotes or chats about pop culture, politics, and current affairs.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m excited to share a wealth of experiences from my professional development and my personal travels around the world. I love cooking and would be happy to prepare and share meals from my multicultural diet. I’m also eager to exchange stories and cultural insights, offer travel tips from my adventures, and assist with language practice.
