Hey, I’m Suvo. I’m based in Kolkata, India, and I’ve been part of the Couchsurfing community for 10+ years. I’ve hosted extensively in the past especially while I was staying by myself in Mumbai, and those experiences remain some of my favourite memories of shared living and slow, meaningful travel.

At heart, I’m driven by honest curiosity. I’m fairly easygoing, mildly irreverent, and not very good at taking life too seriously. I enjoy learning by doing, getting things wrong, and figuring things out along the way. My work life has taken me across teaching, product and interaction design, heritage walk curation, policy and social impact consulting, and a few other stops in between. I care deeply about purpose, people, and systems- but I’m also very happy talking nonsense over diet coke/ fants.

I love doing a whole lot of things- swimming, cooking (and feeding people), experimenting with ice creams, long walks through cities, discovering lesser known places and stories, exploring food cultures, and spending time with close friends and family. I also enjoy showing people around my city- especially the bits that don’t always make it into travel shows/ books.

For me, Couchsurfing has always been about people. I’m here to meet folks from different parts of the world, hear their life stories, exchange perspectives, share meals, wander cities together, and have honest, unfiltered conversations about life. Some of my closest friendships have come from this community, and I value the slowness and openness it allows.

I’m broadly and genuinely curious about most things in life. If you enjoy good conversations, shared meals, and discovering places through people, we’ll probably get along just fine.

My musical preferences are constantly shifting. Brian L. Weiss's Many Lives, Many Masters is my all-time favorite book. One of my favorite things to do includes watching movies at the theater.
