Please keep your couch request short because the probability of us hosting you decays exponentially with the number of words in your couch request.* I really don't mind if you fill your request with random letters to get to 100 characters. I listen well but I hate reading, so let's talk once we meet.
Please use the couch request feature if you're asking for a couch. I get tons of requests, I have to decline most of them. Please don't send me a request more than a week in advance.**
* YES, I FUCKING MEAN THIS!
** YES AGAIN, I'M FUCKING SERIOUS!
I try not to be a pain in the ass, but I don't really know why. Nihilist? Hedonist?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surf, host and meet mainly awesome people. For me that's what this is about.
Hosting: Sporadically In HK for a few years. They arrived. Stayed here a few nights. Then they left.
Surfing: Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Guilin, Yangshuo, Kunming, Dali, Tokyo.
Black outs, sarcasm and irony. I used to do be into photography back in the days and am finally picking it up again. Physicist by training, who subconsciously wishes he was more creative (and less logical if both don't work together). I also do have something to say about almost anything, even if I know nothing about it.
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: if it's either really weird and impossible to understand, or really dumb and packed with meaningless action I will probably watch some of it.
Books: I do read but I'm unfortunately not patient enough to finish most books that I start. Hopefully that will change some day.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Plenty but nowhere near enough. I think the best part of travelling is meeting people or travelling with people. Seeing stuff is nice and all but what I remember a couple of years down the road are the people I met on my journeys.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can show you around our newly established Hackerspace in Hong Kong. I also picked up a couple of languages on the way. Am now trying to learn Mandarin Chinese. Don't let me teach you anything. I might corrupt your soul if it isn't already.
