About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Live as many lives as possible!
ABOUT ME
I'm Jeff, originally from Southern California, however, now a Phoenix transplant while studying for my MD. I'm an easy-going, relaxed individual who loves to smile and laugh. I'm a terrible planner, and I tend to find the best experiences in life come when you just get out there and do it. I've been described as hard-working, but I'm doing my best to shake that particular descriptor. Most of all, I like to travel, to meet new people and enjoy their company, and to teach and expand upon the (very little I know about the) world.
PHILOSOPHY
Determinism.
Secular humanism.
There probably is no god, so stop worrying and enjoy your life!
I like skepticism.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted a few people at my place here. More than providing a place to sleep, what I enjoy most is the exchange between people. It can be anything, from a favorite meal, to an idea, to a funny joke! It's usually the smallest things that are the most enjoyed/memorable, anyway.
I've also surfed a bit and I think it is the best way to travel.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Yet to meet a couch surfer I didn't like!

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies - I really love revisionist westerns. Spaghetti westerns a lot. I am a huge Clint Eastwood fan; I like most of his movies. I'm a bit of a SciFi geek. Really, anything with memorable, believable characters. I prefer movies that aren't sequels, remakes, or based on comic books (except Sin City, which is an amazing film!)
Books - I read mostly medical text books. For pleasure, I read scifi/fantasy. I like modernist (Hemingway is my all time favorite) and victorian (especially Thomas Hardy, Dickens) authors.
My favorite quote from Hamlet (everyone should have one, right?): "I could be bounded in a nutshell, and count myself a king of infinite space, were it not that I have bad dreams."
Music - Nineties alternative. Country is my guilty pleasure.
Also, I am a HUGE Bruce Springsteen fan; he is one of the great songwriters and performers of his generation.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived a year in Europe while swimming professionally for a club there.
Traveled across the Andes in a bus in the shadow of Mount Aconcagua (the tallest mountain in the Americas!)
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to travel. Our time here is so limited, and I think more than anything I would like to know as many places as I can, to meet people from all corners of the world, and to view things from their shoes. In today's world, where everything happens within the blink of an eye, I think we should all strive to create something that is lasting--especially relationships!
