About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Teaching English in France, adventuring on the side

ABOUT ME

I just graduated from University of California, Berkeley, with a degree in Political Economy and a minor in Conservation and Resource Studies. Now that I've passed that major milestone, I am free to travel! So right now I am teaching English in a small, fairly rural area of France to elementary school students and during the vacay periods ,travelling to as many places on the European continent (and possibly Asia and North Africa) as possible.

In general, I'm a energetic person, but often mistaken as being at tad bit older than I am, so we'll call that "mature". This is my first major travel journey, though I have had brief excursions throughout my life, and I look forward to making it count as much as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Sadly I am still working on acquiring a couch, so focusing on the surfing aspect right now!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed for my first time in Italy this December! I had a fantastic time, and want to keep doing it (but in new places. Not just Italy).

Interests

I love reading, currently making my way through "Independent People" from the Icelandic author Halldor Laxness. I love being outside, especially near the ocean, which means I subsequently love hiking and swimming, and all sorts of those things. Coffee can't be quite described as an interest, more of a necessity, but I always make a point to check out some coffee shops where ever I go, so that process will be marked as an interest. Besides those, the fairly generic "food, travel, photography", but I promise, each and every one is super fun, and, dare I say it, interesting.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to read many books. It confuses my brain I read so much and then I forget the names.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trekking the Belizean jungle with a friend who claimed to "know the area". Hint: he did not know the area quite well enough.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to bake. At home, its my stress valve, so bread, pie, cream puffs sometimes materialize over night. I enjoy cooking, but haven't been doing it for quite long enough to teach, but I'm happy to share. I have quite a library stored up about conservation and potential conservation methods and quandaries, so feel free to hit me up on that, either for conversation or advice! I literally am paid to teach English, so if you want a few translations by me, I can give stamp of approval. Or if you are jonesing for children's songs, I have tons of those up my sleeves.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A fresh perspective to old cities. Also I can make a bed. And make food. Really I'm a Jill of all trades.

Countries I’ve Visited
