About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live different lives before living only one kind of life

ABOUT ME

I grew up in a very small town in China and now study in Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong. So I know well about both HK and China.

I love all the delicious food and I can enjoy different tastes. HK is an ideal place for me to try different food. I can see, tasty food is the most important aspect of my life. I am good at cooking as well, but only limited in Chinese food.A little shy girl, yet easy to get along with. I have good living habit, clean and tidy. But unlike most girls, I am afraid of most animals. Despite that I am ok with cats or dogs in a house, I dare not to hold them in my arms. I will try to run away if they come close to me.

I love movies, and wanna go to all the places where those movies were shot. I was a so-called traditional "good girl" but I wanna do something out of the ordinary and try more lives as I can before I chose one kind of life.

I am learning how to drive now, but haven't got the license yet. Next skill I am planning to get is photographing, the professional level. But I want to buy my first camera with the money I earn myself not from my parents.

I am a person full of nostalgia and I treasure all the things in the past. But it doesn't mean I have no dream about the future. I am interested in all the things with history, the persons or places with stories.

PHILOSOPHY

Remember and treasure the past, enjoy the present, and dream of the future.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Recommended by my friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Totally no experience abroad before but I have read a lot about this and hear from my friends.

But I have the similar experience in my country when I went to Qing Dao after the graduation from Junior High School with my friends. We lived in the house of a family who lived on fishing. The couple was very kind despite that we had difficulty in communication because of accents. One day I was stuck by fish bone and they tried many methods to help me, just like my grandparents. That experience is ordinary but impressing.

Interests

Movies, Badminton, Calligraphy, reading, travelling and music. I am interested in detective stories and comics, like Conan and novels by Agatha Christie.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:

Country music, eg. "Take me home country road".
Leslie Cheung.
Faye Wong.
Adele Adkins.

Drama and movies:
My favorite: The Legend of 1900 & Hilary and Jackie.
The movies I am interested in can't be listed since there are too many.
My favorite drama is Hustle. Others like Sherlock, The Big Bang Theory, friends and some Korean drama.

Books:
Most novels and prose in Chinese.
Harry Potter.
Gone with the wind, My favorite one.
I love the poem by W.B.Yeats
”How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true;
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face..."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

No world-shaking things but some trivialities. As I said, my past life was so "good" in conventional meaning. I am always the first grade in my school, a little school.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would be glad to share my views about China and Hong Kong, from my personal experience. In addition, I can share the traditional culture and popular culture of China, since my hometown-Xi'an is a city with long history and I am good at the history, geography and literature of China.

Of course, cooking Chinese food like dumplings and some
dishes is my strong point.

I would like to know more about the food culture, life style, literature and movies of a foreign country. I want to live their original style of life while I am surfing.
