Overview
About Me
Hello, my name is Sylvain and I live in Villeurbanne, right next to Lyon.
In my everyday life, I work on how traffic is linked to fuel consumption (meaning how you can save fuel by driving more efficiently).
I always loved music, but it's only since last year that it has become a real passion. I began learning how to play the piano and love to practice every day since. I have just started tap dancing: I've never danced before, but I love musicals! I often go to Lyon's auditorium (where you can get cheap ticket if you're under 28 y-o, just saying ;D).
I am also a volunteer in a gaming bar called "Moi je m'en fous je triche" (literally "I don't care, I cheat") where people come to play board games and have a drink between friends or family! The funny thing is that I serve drinks but never drink alcohol!
As for sports, I always move in the city by bike. I enjoy doing hiking and biking during my holidays. I used to play tennis and table tennis in clubs.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have not yet been able to travel a lot in the world, so I guess I want the world to come to me! I want to hear about lifes different than mine, meet new people, and also speak in different languages !

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to music all day long, even at work. I'm fond of rock, jazz, classical music... And thanks to my car's radio, I have to say I'm into pop music also. I like to do playlists on Spotify and get a "ooh this song is so good, I don't remember the name of it" from my friends!
I used to watch a lot of movies : one day, i decided to watch every movie I heard of but never watched! Musicals are my favorite, it makes me want to move and sing. I like every kind of movie, except those talking about WWII or with gory scenes .
I enjoy reading books. I'm currently re reading every Harry Potter (have you read the 8th one? so much fun!) and Lord of the Rings in English. I used to read them in French, but I prefer reading books in their original voice (so mostly in English).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
You probably don't care about it, but I have found wonderful friends, and that's the thing I'm most proud of !
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm working on traffic and fuel consumption, so if you're not bored I can probably teach you how to drive efficiently in urban environments !
There's is no problem if you want to speak in French, I'm patient and talk slowly when needed. I easily understand English (everything I read or see on the internet is in English), but I rarely speak it (for the moment). I've learned Spanish and have read one or two books in Spanish, but I'm clearly not fluent (Spanish courses are so far away !). And as for Swedish, I have done a year exchange in Stockholm, so I can speak a few words (especially about värmeöverföring, if you are into that :p).
I can share my knowledge about the city: I know well the main streets of Lyon, the public transport network... Lyon is also full of good events, I know some good websites that could help you organise you nights ;-)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm pretty new in the Couchsurfing world, so I don't really know what you would like to have !
The couch I have can be turned into a bed for 2. I have a blanked and pillows if needed. The couch is in the living-room, so it's not really private.
Meals can be shared if cost if shared also.
