My housemates and I hosted dozens of couchsurfers back in Dublin, Ireland a few years ago but I never was on the site. Now that I've been travelling for over a year, it just struck me that I could couchsurf myself here and there and cross life paths with great people as well by being the hosted!

I lived in a forest in India for about two months, helping with organic farming and selling art with a friend on Sundays in the streets of the local town to buy food for the week. I had 8€ on my bank account all this time. Best days of my life.
