About Me

Hi,
I just came back in France one year ago, after studying ecology for 3 years in Canada and Mexico. With my girlfriend, we live now in the mountains of south of France, with the project to cultivate edible mushrooms (pleurotes, shiitake), doing a little of beekeeping and permaculture too. Because of my formation about the ecosystems, and my experiences with mexican peasants, it became very important for me to apply agroecology in my garden, and practice voluntary simplicity in my life.

I'm someone very enthusiastic and passionate about the projects I undertake, and always interested in alternative ways of life. However i'm trying to keep well-balanced between the liberty of the movement (travel, meet other cultures, other people, learning, talking, dancing...) ans the need of the ground (develop a connection with the place where I live, live in the moment, put what I learned into practice...).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had just one experience of couchsurfing three years ago in Quebec city, and that was great ! A young couple who host me for one night and took me to visit the city and a natural park outside, where we could observe two mooses restin in the snow. Very nice ! Then, I didn't do a lot of couchsurfing, preferently doing woofing, which is also an alternative way of travel, a kind of volunteer work in farms.

Interests

My experiences in Mexico let me discover the traditions of Native People, through ceremonies, legends, etc. I have to say that's an universe in which I entered with wonder and respect, and now it still means a lot for me. I would like to explore more, and if you are some knowledge in that, it would be a great opportunity to share !

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of kind of music (jazz, rock, indie, classic, electroswing, french music, latin music, music of the world...), but not a specific one.

Any examples of films : "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", Monthy Pythons, Tarantino, etc.

Any examples of books : the books from Herman Hesse, Pierre Rabhi and Fukuoka for their philosophy of life, Game Of Thrones from G.R.R. Martin of the books from J.R.R. Tolkien for the incredible universes that they developed.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Participate in the mission of the "Radeau des Cimes", an exploration of the canopy of a primary forest in Laos by means of an helium baloon, looking for new species 30 meters above the ground...

What I Can Share with Hosts

We both love cooking (vegetarian, mexican, french, and all that we can explore) so, why not share ! Plans for travel. Maybe excursions in nature to let us introduce you the art of picking mushrooms or meet solitary bees and dragonflies ?

Countries I’ve Visited
