ABOUT ME
I consist almost entirely of fringe (bangs in US-English) and glasses, but if you look closely you'll spot a face going on behind that.
I'm studying for an MPhil in Development Studies - as in, international development, how it happens, whether it should happen, what on earth's going on - with a special focus on trade.
I do improvised comedy. This was entirely unexpected, the best accident that ever happened to me, and the main thing I got out of time at uni.
I play the tuba, but I promise it won't be joining me on your couch.
I am open minded, excited by people who are excited by something, always happy to chat, easygoing.
PHILOSOPHY
If in doubt, lead a trout.
My grandma said this by accident when trying to explain the rules of bridge, so it became a family saying, but I do find it kind of comforting when I can't figure out what to do: it's a way of saying "Oh well, do whatever".
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Unfortunately as I'm a student I live in a single room in halls where I'm not allowed a candle or toaster, let alone surfers. I really look forward to having the space to host surfers myself as this sounds incredible. If anyone needs showing around in Oxford, I'd be happy to act tour-guide, and I can message anyone with questions about the city.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Brand new to couchsurfing!
Interests
Nothing is more interesting than learning about what other people are interested in. I have rambles available on the subject of "development issues" and improv; usually chat about friendsmemoriesexperiences, books I'm reading, politics, cool science things I don't really understand that I heard on the radio; and will more-than-happily lend an ear for anything. I am very interested in drinking tea.
