About Me

ABOUT ME

I am originally from the United States (Hawaii), but moved to Norway when I was 10 with my parents. I have been living here since.

I studied music in Highschool, and used to play the violin and piano, along with singing in a choir for many years.

In December 2013 I finished my Master's thesis in Business. I wrote about leadership in MMORPG's (video games) and how it is comparable to leadership in "real life", a topic I am very passionate about. I am currently working for the same University, in the Research Department with administration work for research projects.

I also work part-time for a Resource Center for Game Development in Norway. It's incredibly exciting working with the video games industry, and I'm loving the experience.

As you might have guessed, in my spare time I enjoy computer games (mainly rts's, rpg's, mmorpg's, and just getting into a few fps's). If I ever get tired of that, I love watching anime, or reading a good book (preferably Sci-Fi). In the same vein, I also enjoy discussions on space travel and planetary colonization! I have also been known to occasionally leave my batcave and enjoy a drink or two with friends.

I am not very good at sitting still for long, so I tend to take short trips internationally about four times a year. If I am lucky, I also get one longer trip as well. I usually travel alone, but often visit friends or family. I am a cautious traveler, who still loves having adventures (albeit safe ones). I could never imagine sitting on a beach all day. There is too much to see, and too much to experience out there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took a trip to South Africa in 2011. On one of the safari's my friend and I came across a group of about a hundred elephants swimming in a lake or lounging around it. They walked up to and past the cars. It was amazing being so close to so many.

Another experience that will stay with me forever was on a trip to China. I was in Beijing staying with a local student. She took me on a bike-ride through Beijing at night. Although the locals were thoroughly unimpressed by my bike-riding skills, it was fantastic to experience.

Or red-faced, asking a group of Highlanders what they were wearing under their kilts in Inverness, Scotland.
