关于我
ABOUT ME
I'm great for those you like to wander, like to see the everyday side of cities, and strike up conversations with strangers. I like to be adventurous and enjoy going with the flow.
I've JUST moved to Berlin for the next few years.. I've lived here before so I know I really like it and I am pretty familiar.
我为什么加入 Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed with friends in Montreal, which was a very fun experience and was interested in making more. The next summer I used couchsurfing in Berlin, Prague, and Budapest. I don't only use it to find places to stay but enjoy going to meet ups and events too. I've arranged a couchsurfing event for my birthday when I was abroad and attended CS events in NY, China, and Germany. When I find out someone has done CS, it usually gives me the impression that they are warm, open minded, and experienced in working through differences whether those be cultural or personality based.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情
The most "amazing" experiences I've had are pretty personal to me and aren't really story worthy. Here is a cool travel story instead:
In 2017, I went to Huangshan, China which I insisted on going despite having a slight fear of heights. (Google it!) After hiking up to the very peak (took about two hours one way) and back down to the ski lift area we came in on, my partner and I realized that this lift had stopped running at 5 pm, we had arrived 15 minutes too late. It was getting dark, neither of us spoke Chinese to discern which signs pointed to the way down, and the narrow, worn-stone step path had no lights. We had no water, no flashlights, and both of our phones were dead after taking pictures and videos of the incredible views.
We made it down safely by following on the heels of a Chinese family who had flashlights with them for the over an hour long hike done. It was tiring and stressful, but felt like there was a lot to be grateful for by the end (as well as a little accomplished). I believe in certain amounts of stress being positive - and this was one example of such.
教,学,和分享
I think the small details really make life, so I like to point out those small details to visitors.
I'm familiar with Berlin and Germany, but this is the first time I've attempted to live in either in adulthood so I still have a lot to learn. I would love to learn from your experiences here and from where you're from. If you're interested in talking/learning about the USA or New York City (where I lived for the last four years) I'm also happy to share. Also cooking together and having a drink together is pretty common place on couchsurfing for a reason - it works.

If you host me (and there are no issues), I can DEFINITELY host you or friends of yours. I'd also love to buy you a drink, teach you something new, or cook for you.
I am a pretty open book to talk about anything with hosts and appreciate whatever experience they can provide, whether that is a safe place to sleep or insight on where they live.
