About Me

ABOUT ME

Open-minded, easy-going, happy, positive-thinking. I lived, studied and worked in Germany, Australia, Singapore, Switzerland, the Philippines, India, Belgium, Ecuador and Mexico; traveled to quite a few places in South-East Asia, Europe, South America and Australia; volunteered for conservation projects in the Philippines, Ecuador, Mexico, Uruguay and Australia for over half a year and would love to repeat it..

I love healthy plant-based food along with a healthy lifestyle, which for me means living more simply, valuing nature and using its resources lightly, respecting all animals incl. humans of all kinds ;) and caring about justice. I don't need much to be happy, do what everyone does or tick as many boxes as possible. But I rather look for joy in the small treasures in life and live life with intent.

PHILOSOPHY

I feel very fortunate to live the life that I am living but also feel the need to help others who are not as fortunate and conserve the most precious places on earth for generations to come.

Everything in life happens for a reason. Never regret anything. You learn something from every situation - good or bad.

"Just because you cannot do everything, don't do nothing! Do something! Anything!" (Colleen Patrick-Goudreau)

FUTURE MISSION and PROJECTS

Volunteering in conservation and community projects around the world. Participating in an Earthship build and related eco-friendly, sustainable ways of living with permaculture and edible gardens.
Living in a sharing community of like-minded people with vegan permaculture principles
Working and living with less but giving back more to the world.
Follow a more minimalist approach (collect memories, not things).
Designing a tiny house from recycled materials.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been hosting people in Melbourne, Switzerland and Brussels and was a guest myself in many locations. If I stay with somebody, I like to get to know my hosts, cook for or with them and help with the dishes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Lots of positive experiences with Hospitality Club (similar concept), Couchsurfing and Warmshowers.org (for cyclists), that enriched my life. I also participated in some workaway (volunteering) projects in Uruguay and met truly compassionate and caring people.

Interests

SCUBA diving, hiking, rock climbing & bouldering, cycling, calisthenics, camping, skiing & snowboarding, wind surfing, sailing ... Basically TRAVELING and OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

Other things I am interested in: sustainability and conservation projects (Earthships, organic edible gardens/forests, vegan permaculture, food forests, tiny houses from recycled material, community, sharing society) environmental issues, taking pictures, traveling and vegan cuisine :)
I like going out with friends and having a good conversation and learning from other people, though I am not doing this as often as I want to anymore.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am very much into sustainability and conservation at the moment and thus read and watch a lot about it. Generally, I love alternative or less mainstream movies.
Open to any music especially hand-made at home (guitar, piano, etc.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Limiting it to one thing is difficult cause there are amazing things happening all the time but to name a few:
A whale shark swimming above me on a Scuba dive;
Participated in beach clean up in one of the remotest places in Australia;
Going vegan and open my heart to live a more compassionate life;
Volunteering in reforestation, marine conservation and eco-builds.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn from what nature can teach us. I love to get to know people and their approaches to life cause we all learn from each other in some way. In exchange I have some interesting stories to tell myself.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to share genuine conversation about sustainable living, cooking a meal (together or for the host, as preferred), experiences in permaculture, food forests & volunteering, some lessons in German, English or basic French, ...
