Saving funding to get myself and my two kids to Costa Rica

ABOUT ME

All of my professional stuff can be found on my online CV - http://zelenz.com. I'm a single mom with a 6 year old girl and 5 year old boy. We are currently in process of getting ourselves to Costa Rica to help out a school through Teachers Without Borders. I'm also helping TWB with an online curriculum and teacher professional development program.

PHILOSOPHY

I personally feel like I'm here to serve. I've been given certain gifts, talents, and learning opportunities which have enhanced what I can offer others. I am very drawn to volunteering and especially volunteering in the educational realm.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm looking for space temporarily between September 15 - October 3-15 (depends on the passport arrivals for my kids). The kids have their sleeping bags, so we can be creative. I can also stay in different places during that timeframe - it doesn't have to be all in one location. We can provide our own food, etc. - I'm just not in a position to spend money on a hotel/rent while saving for this trip.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never officially done this before. It will be a new adventure!

Lately all I read are materials for my dissertation (half way done). I am also a classical musician, so of course I like that and many other types of music. I'm very open-minded for the most part. I don't really watch tv or movies much.

I think my doctoral journey has been the most expanding for me. I've uprooted myself from living traditionally and educating my children differently than I would have prior to this adventure. It has opened up doors of experiences I never would have fathomed before.
