About Me
DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS SITUATION IN DENMARK, I AM UNABLE TO HOST UNTIL AT LEAST 27 MARCH (POSSIBLY EXTENDED) FOR ALL OF OUR SAFETY. APOLOGIES FOR THIS.
I'm more fun than what my occupation suggests I promise! :)
Also, my diary may say I'm busy and sometimes I'm genuinely busy/unavailable - but drop me a message to ask 😊 it may take me a couple of days to reply - apologies for this, I will get back to everyone but I get soo many requests (which is amazing!) that it's hard to keep up with everything sometimes 😅❤️ Generally, I am more available during the week as weekends I also often travel too 😁
I am a young professional (whatever that exactly means..) and a real hippie at heart. I travel quite often myself as well and I hope to be able to help other travellers too to get to know my current city, Copenhagen!
Previously, I lived in Scotland for almost 5 years and now it'll soon be 5 years that I've lived in Denmark (phew, time flies!). I'm originally from a small town called Veszprém in Hungary, about an hour and half from Budapest, my beautiful capital 😍 I live alone in Frederiksberg, which is a very lovely area of Copenhagen and is close to the city centre. I cycle most of the year (except the harsh winter months..brrrrrrr!) and I have a quite nice group of friends in the city. I work regular office hours at a patent firm and currently training to be a fully-qualified patent attorney. I studied Chemistry so yes, I am a bit geeky at times ^^ I love meeting new people and I am always up for a laugh. Most weekends I could join you for a half a day or so to show you around the city a bit and I can offer excellent tips on what (not) to do while in Copenhagen even if I can't join.
I'm trying to be a vegetarian (officially a flexitarian), but I don't mind whatever eating habits you have and not bothered with meat in the fridge either :) Also, if you were to offer to cook your national dish for me that contains meat, I'd be very happy to try it! I'm also trying to get into yoga but it's quite painful, not gonna lie (not as flexible anymore as a kid!).
I look at couchsurfing as a cultural experience; hence, I'd appreciate if you wouldn't only look for a free place to stay at but also have something to bring to the table (not necessarily literally..! I mean a good story, a laugh or maybe cooking your national food together etc.). I live in a nice and quiet apartment complex so if you're looking for a crazy party place, this ain't it (..most of the times but in case I organise anything for a weekend, I'd let you know before your trip!).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a teenager, my mum and I were active members of Couchsurfing but as I moved away for uni I neither had the possibility or the means to host people, especially in shared flats with some odd flatmates.. But as I finally got to rent my own apartment and live alone, I thought it could be nice to sign up again and host travellers in the crazy-expensive Copenhagen so that I get to participate in some cultural exchanges hopefully :) The good thing about working life is that I earn money but as many other young professionals, I struggle for time and holidays. While I have had some lovely and slightly longer holidays in the past two years, I am keen to hear of fellow travellers (especially solo women! but I'll happily host anyone) as hopefully in a few years I can take some time off of work to do a longer trip somewhere.
