CURRENT MISSION

Integrading the more mature mindset I've returned with from my last travel (solo 15 months across 10 countries in Latin America) into my life in Amsterdam. I've come home with loads of new ideas: creative projects I want to start and set up but also new skills I want to develop and teach myself. Basicly I realised we all are capable of doing much more than we show or think we can do. Now it's time to prove that to myself and to everybody else.

ABOUT ME

Everything I do or think is a product of trying to be myself. Although it sounds very easy to some people, being yourself is in my opinion one of the most difficult things there is. I like to be original in my own way.

I am easy to make contact with me and that's why I also easily connect with others. Furthermore I am outgoing and full of energy. You can always hit me up for a good night out and I am - most of the time - up for anything. I like to do things in the moment and often just wing it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think - and hope - we all participate by doing what we can when we can. Whether that is hosting or surfing, let us all give and receive once in a while.

Only just getting into hosting as student life wasn't ideal for that, but as soon as I have my own place in Amsterdam I'm hoping to be able to do more.

FOR NOW: read "my house" cause I have some shortcomings and I don't want to disappoint you! Please state explicitly you are fine with it in your request! Furthermore, last minute/short notice request work best for me as I kinda have a very fluid/uncertain/adventurous life right now. PLEASE DON'T SEND ME REQUESTS FURTHER THAN ONE MONTH UPFRONT! And honoustly, even that is still far away for me, I simply don't know what I will be doing in a month time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

From september till december 2012 I traveled Japan for 3 months. Using couchsurfing during that trip started out as a way to keep my budget within bounds in de expensive (but oh so beautiful & amazing) Japan. It turned out to be be one of the best decisions of my life, meeting the most awesome people. I got the perfect introduction into the couchsurf community you could hope for. Now I have used (and will use) it on all my further travels.

I'm really into music, movies and theatre. I've been raised in a very cultural home, both my parents being artists. I learned to appreciate all kinds of different art forms at a young age and developed my own interest within this broad spectrum. Music is something very important for me, don't know why exactly. I tried making music, playing an instrument at a young age but could not find my passion in this. To be honoust I still regret the day I gave up playing the cello, cause now I find it one of the most beautiful sounds an instrument can make. However, I found my passion much more in the listening-part of music. It really is an active task for me; I can not listen to music while I am studying for example as my mind keeps focussing on all the different rhythms and compositions.

I also have a love for festivals. I've been going to them since I was 15 and I still visit new ones every summer.

Maybe sounding a bit silly, but keeping traveljournals religiously during my last solo travel of 15 months across 10 countries in Latin America was one the most amazing things in my life. I can't describe the feeling of coming to understand how much it has brought me to change my mindset/view/understading of things. I swear by writing stuff down and it is something I now continue in my daily life.

Two Ayahuasca ceremonies that were completely and utterly unreal.

Climbing Mt. Fuji at night and off season - from 8th station to the top by myself. Because of a storm the sunrise wasn't that amazing, but in that storm I experienced a thrill that I will never forget.

A day in a morphsuit at Sziget Festival 2011, definitely one of the best days in my life.
