About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn from others.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in rural northwestern NJ. My education was continued in Universities in NJ and Texas where I earned a BS in Biology. I love all animals and have had pets like snakes, iguanas, horses, rabbits, guinnea pigs, cats, dogs and rats (mostly rescues, death till we part). People tell me that I am funny (enough about my looks now!). My favorite color was green but these days I have been one of those purple people. I don't know what I am going to be when I grow up yet.

I am old enough that I don't want to stay up and party all the time, but young enough that I still know how to have a good time (heck, all night once in a while won't kill me :)! ) !!

PHILOSOPHY

When you find a turtle on top of a fence post, it did not get there by itself.

Love yourself! You are wonderful. Do on to others as you would do on to yourself... provided you love yourself!

It is always a good day to be a turtle... even when you end up on a fence post.

Treat others better then you would wish to be treated and never leave a turtle on a fence post!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am still pretty new. I am enjoying local CS get togethers :) I have also really enjoyed the great conversation with the few surfers that have partaken my futon.

Music, Movies, and Books

The dictionary was formally my most often read book. I don't know if being left handed can be blamed for all the mis-spellings that are my life... but it is an excuse and I am sticking to it! I have great respect for computer programs that can suggest what I am trying to spell.. not all can.. and I get really excited if I can find the word myself in a dictionary! Damn Jersey accent!

I am a big fan of the Conversations with God trilogy by Neil Donald Walsh.

Fight Club. Excellent mental health movie! The best romantic comedy ever... and a small statement of the money machine we live by... and Edward Norton... need I say more?

Anything with Johnny Depp. Did you know he is an amateur entomologist?!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had the opportunity to net bats at Big Bend National Park with some other students and a professor that had a permit to do so. They are amazing little creatures. All were released after they were identified and measurements were taken. Well, a few got held captive till they gave us a fecal sample ;)

Commerce Texas is an alternate reality. If you go there you may get to experience raining crickets or an electrifying atmosphere. I don't know if I was struck by lightning. I don't think so... but it got close enough to knock me down and make my mouth taste like pennies (all my molars are filled with metal) *shrug* I don't really recommend it.

Teach, Learn, Share

There is something to be learned from every human interaction.
Remember a smile at a stranger can be a ripple in a pool of social interactions. Try to love thy neighbor... we all really want the same things in life (security of a safe home, a steady food supply, good health... etc)

Some of the most awesome people I have met were dogs!

A well balance person has a rat on each shoulder :)

Horseshoe crabs have blue blood. Their blood uses copper in the oxygen transport molecule instead of iron.

(The Royal Horseshoe Crabs?)

Jamaica, Mexico

Countries I’ve Lived In
