About Me

"Ever since my childhood I've been scared, I've been afraid,
of being trapped by circumstance, of staying in one place,
and so I always keep a small bag full of clothes carefully stored,
somewhere secret, somewhere safe, somewhere close to the door.
Well I’ve travelled many countries, washed my feet in many seas,
I've drank with grifters in Vienna and with punks in old DC,
and I've driven across deserts,
driven by the irony that only being shackled to the road could ever I be free"
(Frank Turner - The Road)

My name is Eike. I study German language and Geography and I am on my way to become a teacher.
I moved around a lot in my life and I don´t think I will stop so soon. I love the nature and silence but I also like good pubs, good food, extreme places and activities.
I play the drums in a band and I write half of the lyrics. It´s a important thing for me.
My biggest dream is to learn how to sail and than sail down some coasts and see the world from that position.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I made my account here quit a while ago but I never finished or used it till now (March 2015). I just had not much time to move around.
I like having guests and I think when you travel you learn the most when you stay with the locals. When I was younger there where bands from all over the world staying at my place. Most of the time it was a good experience. This is a little like it...D.I.Y.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I was invited to an aborigine reservation in Australia. I went fishing with them and learned how to do spear fishing and net fishing and other things.

I once had the chance to write a little story in a book called "The road most traveled". Quit a lot of the other people in this book are famous people and some of them kind of stars for me. So that was a big thing for me.

I guess thats two things.
