About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Attempting to escape the borders of the United States permanently

ABOUT ME

I am always planning a trip to somewhere. My sense of humor is dead pan sarcasm and usually takes a while for people to catch on that I am actually not being serious, but I try to take it easy on people at the beginning. I'd really love to meet some new people to learn their way of life and maybe bring some new things into my own life. We're all here to grow from experiences with others, right? Currently, I am a student in England, learning about trees. I like writing, hiking, having a good beer, reading, biking and walking around big cities till my feet hurt really bad.

PHILOSOPHY

Live the dream. Take some risks. Let life happen. Be open. Be spontaneous.

"...I think there’s this idea that you gotta be set right now, and I don’t think you have to be set right now. I think what you do is you find something that excites you, and you do that and maybe it grows tangentially from that......" - Devorah Major

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I decided to try out CS after hearing about it randomly. I have hosted a few people from all over the US and Europe over the last few years and it has all been very positive. I have gotten the great opportunity to surf in London with some very nice people. It made my trip to London a lot more memorable and I learned a lot. Right now, I am not able to host anyone, but I would be more than happy to meet up, chat and show people around Preston. Throughout my traveling experiences, I've been very lucky to meet some very giving people who were willing to help me out when I've been stuck, no questions asked. I think that's incredible, so now I want to pay it back into the system. We've got to give back, right?

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted (along with my roommates) a few people at my house back in the states and also couchsurfed in London. I think it is a wonderful opportunity to share with strangers and put some trust back into humanity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to all 50 states in the US. It took just about 9 or so years to complete that mission. My next goal is to move to London. So far, I've made it to England, but I hope to move down to London in about 6 months. I've hugged some redwoods, hitchhiked in Kauai (Hawaii), totaled my car in Maine, hiked the Grand Canyon a couple times, flew to London with my best friend to see Gorillaz first concert in a few years.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell you the top news stories of the day, random facts about really random things. There is a lot of knowledge stuffed into my head about trees. I know more about London than any American should probably know about it. I'm always willing to learn from others and am an excellent listener.
