About Me

I'm a 31-year-old Brazilian grad student living in St. Charles, Missouri. I came to the U.S. to take my MA in Communication and before coming here I worked for more than 10 years in advertising agencies. I love traveling, meeting new people and different cultures and learning new languages. I'm into sports in general and American country music. I'm also a food lover, and even though I try hard, cooking is not one of my strengths. I consider myself a simple person, with simple values, open-minded and outgoing. My parents and brothers are still living in Brazil, but they give me all the support I need to pursuit my dreams.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because I have an adventurer soul. Although I spend many hours of my days studying on campus, traveling is one of my passions. Having the opportunity to meet new people and new places and try new tastes are always exciting. I have a few breaks during the year, and I like planning small trips to better enjoy my free time. I wish I could host people on campus, but Lindenwood University has restricted rules and unfortunately I can't. However, my room is always available in Brazil for those who want to explore South America. :)

Interests

I'm really interested in people. I like meeting new people and listen to their stories. I could spend a whole afternoon in a coffee shop having a conversation and drinking macchiato without any problem. I also like sports, watching and playing. Here in the U.S., I'm already a Blues fan, but I must say I don't understand anything about baseball and football and I'm still trying to learn.

Music, Movies, and Books

American county music is what I like to listen when I'm home, but I'm very eclectic. I've been to New Orleans and Memphis to listen to some jazz and blues and I had a great time. When it comes to movies, I just don't like to watch Horror movies and popcorn is a "must have" when I go watching a movie in a theater. The books that I've been reading are all related to journalism, because I'm taking 3 mandatory journalism courses at the university. However, I like reading chronicles (short stories).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to South Africa a few years ago and I had the chance to go on safaris and watch a sunset at the Cape of Good Hope. It was magical. I was with my whole family and I really think it was the best time of life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my culture, my stories (people call me Forrest Gump sometimes) and my life. Honestly, I'm an open book.
